#51. More Places We've Already Seen

I figure we should finish checking out places we've been before we go explore the east. Also the news ticker said there was a swarm on this route!

Haaaa ha ha!

Smeargle

Smeargle marks the boundaries of its territory using a body fluid that leaks out from the tip of its tail. The color of the mysterious fluid secreted from its tail is predetermined for each Smeargle. Over 5,000 different marks left by this Pokémon have been found. Once it becomes an adult, it has a tendency to let its comrades plant footprints on its back.
Choro Notes: I wish you could see Smeargle with different color paints. Kind of like Spinda's spots I guess. Every 10 levels, Smeargle learns the move Sketch. Sketch, when used after a move, permanently becomes that move. Because of this, Smeargle can effectively have any move . . . except for Struggle and Chatter.
Zorak Notes: A dog that has developed biological artistic talent in order to gain an evolutionary advantage? Nature is wonderful.
HulkaMatt Notes: Does some shit with paint and can learn a bunch of moves. I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU SMEARGLE.
Neeksy named this

Choro Notes: Guard Split is a variation on the move Pain Split, whereas Pain Split averages the target's HP with the user's, Guard Split does the same with both defensive stats. Monsters that learn it tend to have above average defensive stats. Really, you could use it to boost allies, I suppose.

Music: Driftveil City

Oh! What is up, Cheren my friend!

That was good times, meeting Alder. Yup.

Alder seemed pretty glad you finally got that!

Shakes is good at shakin'! I'm not, though.

what we hold most dear . . . "

Ah, me?

Ok, phew.

Hrhm. . . .

"I'm gonna talk with the anteaters. They're surprisingly good conversationalists. Really surprising!"

I'm sure you'll think of something cool!

Friendship talks : )

I always feel at home in this city. So weird, that.

Hrm.

I caught most of a fish?!

Luvdisc

Luvdisc live in shallow seas in the tropics and make the branches of Corsola their nests. This heart-shaped Pokémon earned its name by swimming after loving couples it spotted in the ocean's waves. Luvdisc's heart-shaped body is a symbol of love and romance. It is said that any couple meeting this Pokémon is promised a loving relationship that never ends. There is a custom from long ago of giving a Luvdisc as a gift to express one's feelings of love. During the spawning season, countless Luvdisc congregate at coral reefs, turning the waters pink.
Choro Notes: Luvdisc primarily exist to give you Heart Scales, which the tend to carry, which can be used for the Move Relearner. Please feel free to raise one if you would like! vOv
Zorak Notes: Luvdisc's only real use in these games is that its scales are an important currency. Luvdisc I am so sorry.
HulkaMatt Notes: It's a heart fish
Maswartz named this

Are you even a fish? You have feet.

AND Antenna.

Chinchou

Chinchou lives in depths beyond sunlight's reach. On the dark ocean floor, its only means of communication is its constantly flashing lights. Chinchou's two antennas are filled with cells that generate strong electricity. This Pokémon's cells create so much electrical power, it even makes itself tingle slightly. Chinchou lets loose positive and negative electrical charges from its two antennas to make its prey faint. This Pokémon flashes its electric lights to exchange signals with others.
Choro Notes: Chinchou and Lanturn own. Remember when I caught that shiny one? Aww yeahh~
Zorak Notes: Chinchou I'm not sure you and your evolution are horrifying enough to be angler fish.
HulkaMatt Notes: I DISCOVERED THESE GUYS WERE AWESOME ABOUT 5/6 YEARS AGO when some girl used one. She had a thing for berries.
CaptFargle named this

Choro Notes: You can also fish up Krabby, Kingler and Lanturn here!

Sometimes I think things are dumb.

Those things usually turn out to be just dumb enough, yup.

Cause really, there's no way . . . right?

. . .

I'm not really the odd one, I think.

I know about that, please go on.

What about things without lungs? I got a pair of gears who tears that idea apart AS WELL as anything you stick in its gears.

I don't think "breathing" is the definition of life! Being alive is the definition of life!

Via suffering, right?

. . . you could go outside AND be alive!

That might be how you feel."

What? Why? That doesn't make any sense.

Choro Notes: Hone Claws increases the user's Attack and accuracy stats by one level.

Pokémon can aspire to perfection . . . "
Please, I've already seen perfection:

hear all you know about Team Plasma!"

"I'm totally not going to think of lies to feed you to aid in my future escape, no."

Seven Sages at large."

Well, glad I'll never see that guy again.

Man, I love Driftveil.

- - -

Everything! It's your mountain!

keep doin' it."

"Live your own damn life."

Music: Unova Route 6 (Spring-Summer)

I guarantee. GUARANTEE there is someone hiding in here.

No way that there's not.

C'mooon.

Yoink

AHA.

I didn't really care about yours either, Bronius.

What? Why? How many more tests do I need to do for you all?

Really?

Siiiiiiiigh.

Did Velma just tackle a prairie dog to the ground and then maul it savagely?

Choro Notes: Focus Punch has the user tighten their focus at the start of the round, then if they take no damage the attack goes off. It's powerful!

. . . ow.

Yeah, that's—

WHEN THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN?!

Hrmhph.

How gross.

Who'd you think I was?!

BUT YOU STILL DRESS LIKE THAT.

I . . . don't think I want you to chew on that.

Oh, that's . . . inconvenient for us.

Ah!

Really, still kicking?!

Dang.

Oh he'll make a move, alright.

. . .

Dumb.

Well . . . when you put it like that . . .

TAKE OFF THE HOOD.

Choro Notes: Rock Polish sharply increases the user's speed. It's a rock-type Agility where the user carves off pieces of its own hide!

He understands a lot of things as long as emotions aren't involved, so.

Oh, look who it is. I feel like I'm doing all of the legwork and detectiving here, Mr. Looker.

understanding toward Pokémon . . . "

. . . huh.

You're alright Bronius.

Yeah, whatever, Mr. Looker.

This has been a good walk so far.
