Dewott

_{Scalchop techniques differ from one Dewott to another. It never neglects maintaining its scalchops. Strict training is how it learns its flowing double-scalchop technique.

Choro Notes: Dewott is probably one of my favorite middle stage starters. It's just so cool and fun to draw. I didn't even let mine evolve!

Zorak Notes: Dewott is a cool otter dual wieldin' shells. He will cut your shit up.

HulkaMatt Notes: What can I say about Dewott that hasn't already been said? He is absolutely amazing in every way possible.}

_{Choro Notes: Tornadus & Thundurus

Tornadus and Thundurus are counterparts: Tornadus is found in the Black version while Thundurus is found in White. They're the roaming legendaries in this game, like Entei or Mesprit, etc. In this case it's not random wandering, they make a circuit around Unova from south to north each day which makes finding them easier: just run north to south. Because it's easier, you can't track them with the Pokédex this time.}

Tornadus

_{Tornadus expels massive energy from its tail, causing severe storms. Its power is great enough to blow houses away. The lower half of its body is wrapped in a cloud of energy. It zooms through the sky at 200 mph.

Choro Notes: Finally, a pure flying-type! Tornadus is kind of neat! I suppose! He can do something . . . strange. But that's for another time. DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE THING!!!

Zorak Notes: Tornadus is based on Fujin, the kami (God in Shintoism) of the wind. Fujin and his siblings are simultaneously kami and oni, because the only kami badass enough to cause storm patterns and what not clearly also need to be oni. Fujin carries bags of wind around and throws them at people. Like most kami, he and his siblings had a rather weird birth: when the mother deity of the island of Japan (yes, the whole island) Izanami died, Izanagi went down into the Underworld to find her and bring her back. Long story short, she was already way too dead, so Izanagi decided to stay with her until he shone a light upon her and saw her decayed body, full of maggots and foul creatures running over her ravaged body. Also: Fujin and his brothers were there. Probably in her rib cage or something, hanging out.

Vullaby

_{Vullaby's wings are too tiny to allow it to fly. They guard their posteriors with bones that were gathered by Mandibuzz. As the time approaches for it to evolve, it discards the bones it was wearing. They pursue weak Pokémon.

Choro Notes: Vullaby evolves into one of my favorite monsters ever. Oh man I can't wait.

Zorak Notes: Interestingly, Vullaby, it's evolved form, and Golurk were designed by different people than usual (Game Freak): a British man named James Turner. They were added rather late in development. So was Basculin, actually.

HulkaMatt Notes: Damn son . . . just, damn . . . . . . . . . . . damn}

_{Choro Notes: Sucker Punch is a physical dark-type move that strikes first if the target attempts to attack the user. It's a good surprise against quick monsters, especially psychic- or ghost-types.}

Samurott

_{Part of the armor on Samurott's anterior legs conceals a giant sword. In the time it takes a foe to blink, it can draw and sheathe this seamitar and fell opponents in one swing. Its cry alone is enough to intimidate most enemies. A simple glare from one of them quiets everybody.

Choro Notes: Probably my favorite water-type starter. Though . . . I've never used one (See: Dewott)

Zorak Notes: He cool Otter/Sealman who stab thing with head.

HulkaMatt Notes: JESUS CHRIST WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU??? YOU WERE A KUNG FU OTTER AND NOW YOU'RE THE FUCKING KING OF THE SEA! The stache is pretty in character, though. :o}
