Magikarp is virtually useless in battle. It is a pathetic excuse for a pokémon that is only capable of flopping and splashing. This behavior prompted scientists to undertake research into it. If it senses danger approaching, it cloaks itself with bubbles from its mouth so it will look bigger.}
