#55. Haley Catches A Ton Of Things

. . .

Shoot, I can see the next town from here. This'll be cake.

What are you cheering?! There's nothing out here!

Oh this will go well for you all.

Yup, it went great for you.

Well, one is a dragon and one is made of pure ice. So . . .

Is this what you were cheering?!

Pinsir

Pinsir has a pair of massive horns. Protruding from the surface of these horns are thorns. These thorns are driven deeply into the foe's body when the pincer closes, making it tough for the foe to escape. It grips prey with its pincers until the prey is torn in half. What it can't tear, it tosses far. Pinsir is astoundingly strong. It can grip a foe weighing twice its weight in its horns and easily lift it. This Pokémon's movements turn sluggish in cold places. Pinsir burrow and sleep under the ground on chilly nights.
Choro Notes: Pinsir own. Look at that thing. It is a big pissed off stag beetle and that's just sort of cool. Imagine if it could fly.
Zorak Notes: BUGS OWN.
HulkaMatt Notes: Bad ass bug. I don't know what kind of bug it is but it's a bad ass bug. Remember when Metapod used harden so much that the things on his head broke trying to destroy it? Do those things grow back? Did Ash render a Pinsir completely useless?
Choro Notes: HulkaMatt that happened almost fifteen years ago.

Choro Notes: Energy Ball is pretty good, yo. It's a Grass-type Shadow Ball. That is, 80 power special-move that can lower the target's sp.def. A huge variety of not-grass-types learn it, like Chandelure and Beheeyem. Durant can also learn it for some reason?

Well we'll put a stop to that! GET EM.

Oh . . . maybe we went a little overboard.

Ha, ha ha! Well, look! Over there!

Sunkern

Sunkern tries to move as little as it possibly can. It does so because it tries to conserve all the nutrients it has stored in its body for its evolution. It will not eat a thing, subsisting only on morning dew. It may drop out of the sky suddenly. If attacked by a Spearow, it will violently shake its leaves. A year after a cold summer, their population explodes.
Choro Notes: Ughghghhhh look at you.
Zorak Notes: Sunkern is fuckin' terrible and he evolves into something that's not particularly great either. On the other hand: he is rather good at the Pokéathlon . . .
HulkaMatt Notes: THOSE EYES ARE SO CUTE BUT I WOULD NEVER USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Choro Notes: Yessssssssss, red forehead means go ahead

Combee

A Pokémon formed by three others. The trio is together from birth. Combee busily carries sweet floral honey to Vespiquen. It collects and delivers honey to its colony. At night, they cluster to form a beehive and sleep. At night, Combee sleep in a group of about a thousand, packed closely together in a lump.
Choro Notes: How do you pronounce Combee? It turns out me and Reinanigans both pronounce them different ways to make different portmanteaus. (Apparently it is officially Comb-EE.)
Zorak Notes: Male combees are kind of pointless but female combees are pretty rad.
HulkaMatt Notes: Buzz buzz buzz honeycomb bee buzz buzz buzz get em from lathering trees buzz buzz buzz.
If you're a male you probably don't matter, buzz buzz buzz, cause females can actually evolve-they're . . . better?
Sorry better and matter don't rhyme. RIP rhyme im sory

So many bugs, so many things to catch here. Really, how can the professor say she thinks new things are showing up. Just look at this place.

Heracross

Heracross has sharp claws on its feet. These are planted firmly into the ground or the bark of a tree, giving the Pokémon a secure and solid footing to forcefully fling away foes with its proud horn. Heracross charges in a straight line at its foe, slips beneath the foe's grasp, and then scoops up and hurls the opponent with its mighty horn. With its Herculean powers, it can easily throw around an object that is 100 times its own weight. This Pokémon even has enough power to topple a massive tree. They gather in forests seeking the sweet sap of trees.
Choro Notes: I dunno, I think I like Pinsir more.
Zorak Notes: WE'RE HAVING A FUCKIN' BEETLE PARTY AND Y'ALL ARE INVITED.
HulkaMatt Notes: Another bad ass bug. Can probably use it's horn or whatever to flip a car over.

Tall grass. Tall grass will shed some light on these undocumentated species, yes.

. . . Yes, a horse for Haley. Yes.

Rapidash

Rapidash usually can be seen casually cantering in the fields and plains. However, when this Pokémon turns serious, its fiery manes flare and blaze as it gallops its way up to 150 mph. When at an all-out gallop, its blazing mane sparkles, enhancing its beautiful appearance. It has astounding acceleration. From a standstill, it can reach top speed within 10 steps. Very competitive, this Pokémon will chase anything that moves fast in the hopes of racing it.
Choro Notes: It's a horse but it's on fire. It learns Megahorn though so there's that?
Zorak Notes: I dunno, it's not Ponyta . . .
HulkaMatt Notes: I have a Rapidash, it's awesome. FIRE HORSE. How can you ride a horse that is on fire? I dunno.

Well now that's just silly.

Kakuna

Kakuna remains virtually immobile as it clings to a tree. However, on the inside, it is extremely busy as it prepares for its coming evolution. This is evident from how hot the shell becomes to the touch. Although it is a cocoon, it can move a little. It can extend its poison barb if it is attacked.
Choro Notes: Coolest cocoon. Cocool. Kakuna's family is version exclusive to Black. White version gets Metapod's family!
Zorak Notes: BUG BUG BUG BUG
HulkaMatt Notes: Just another one of those 2nd evolution bug type Pokémon when the only thing I can think of when they're mentioned is where they were placed in the PokéRap

Are you in there?

Cherrim

Cherrim blooms during times of strong sunlight. It is docile as a bud, but turns cheerful when it blooms. It folds back into a bud if sunlight wanes. It tries to make up for everything it endured as a bud.
Choro Notes: CALM DOWN.
Zorak Notes: Cherrim is actually one of my favorites just because it's a really sort of neat gimmicky Pokémon to use. In order for her to be strong, you need to use Sunny Day to active her SUNSHINE FORM, where her attack and special defense boost by 50%. Of course, Sunny Day makes her weaker to fire type shit which adds an element or risk, though her special defense sort of counteracts that. Of course, you can instashoot SolarBeams with it, too . . .
HulkaMatt Notes: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I like it!

About time!

Choro Notes: EVOLUTION IS OVER. Haley has every monster in the Unova dex you have to evolve to obtain; the rest are all wild encounters.

Vanilluxe

Swallowing large amounts of water, they make snow clouds inside their bodies and attack their foes with violent blizzards. If both heads get angry simultaneously, this Pokémon expels a blizzard, burying everything in snow.
Choro Notes: You're like two Vanillishes taped together.
Zorak Notes: M-my god . . . the mythical double scoop. . .
HulkaMatt Notes: IT EVOLVES INTO A FUCKING DOUBLE SCOOP!?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?! GREATEST POKEMON EVER.

Hahahahahahaha!

Dunsparce

Dunsparce has a drill for its tail. It uses this tail to burrow into the ground backwards. This Pokémon is known to make its nest in complex shapes deep under the ground. This Pokémon is known to make its nest in complex shapes deep under the ground. It can float just slightly using its wings.
Choro Notes: Dunsparce can do some crazy things with its Serene Grace ability. Infuriating things.
Zorak Notes: Hey, a tsuchinoko. Tsuchinoko are cryptids from Japan, a big old fat bodied snake with a tiny little tail. Also: they can talk and have a propensity of for lying. Also also: they like the booze. Love them tsuchinoko.
HulkaMatt Notes: A chill bro whose eyes are always closed. Just like mine! We have a connection! : D

Well that was a full afternoon!

Choro Notes: In the rustling grass you can also find wild Sunflora, Vespiquen and Beedrill in Black, Butterfree in White!

Music: Lacunosa City

It's neat, I like the walls.

Yegh, not me. I'M UNTAMED. A FREE SPIRIT, YEA.

Th-that's not right. Is it?

. . . a big hole with a monster, huh.

Choro Notes: If you have a Shaymin, she will give you a Gracidea so you can change it to its Sky Form.

*sigh*

OH. Hey. HEY. There's a chinchilla up here! Anybody . . . anybody leave a chinchilla up here? Un-attended Chinchilla . . . anyone?

Sure, why not. It's been a while since I've heard an old story.

Ah, that big hole I keep hearing about.

This is . . . a different sort of story than I was expecting.

it stole away people and Pokémon . . . "
no one could go out after dark."

Heh, yeah. Heh.

How 'bout that, yeah?
