#31. A Dusty Funhouse

Music: Driftveil City

Did it get hotter?

Choro Notes: Summer does only a couple of things. There's no snow anywhere and the day is slightly longer. You can also buy CasteliaCones on Tuesdays! That's really about it though.

Choro Notes: I'm also switching Jacques out. I wanna level some other guys up.

I think I can complete the PokéDex for once. On that note:

. . . this is kind of gross! I wonder how much more cool stuff I can get with this place, though!

Accelgor

Having removed its heavy shell, Accelgor becomes very light and can fight with ninja-like movements. When its body dries out, it weakens. So, to prevent dehydration, it wraps itself in many layers of thin membrane.
Choro Notes: I love that cross-armed pose Accelgor does. It's like a gross little mollusk Street Fighter. Accelgor is the fastest monster introduced in Gen5. It's the third fastest monster overall after just Deoxys and fellow ninja insect (ninjsect) Ninjask, beating Electrode out by just five points. Rough beats for the ball.
Zorak Notes: He's a tube-worm ninja. And that rules.
HulkaMatt Notes: It's a ninja bug! No bug looks cooler, so says me.

Choro Notes: There's . . . nothing really notable about this Accelgor. This person also didn't register their location in the Geonet so I can't even tell you where he came from! Everyone should register their location! I hope JAV does ok with Jed . . .

Haha! I can do that thing you said!

Ho hum.

Ah! You're just kind of bobbing there, huh?

Frillish

Frillish paralyze prey with poison, then drag them down to their lairs, five miles below the surface. With its thin, veil-like arms wrapped around the body of its opponent, it sinks to the ocean floor.
Choro Notes: I like these little guys! They're cute in a really weird way. They're one of only three monsters in gen5 with gender differences. Their typing is unique to their family as well. Over all pretty neat!
Zorak Notes: Frillish is possibly based on youkai Nurarihyon, which was a Portuguese man of war with a human head that'd pull people under. It may also be based on the Kurage no Hinotama, a sort of Portuguese Man O' War Will O' Wisp. Man O' Wisp. Will O' War.
HulkaMatt Notes: GHOST JELLYFISH! BLUE AND PINK GHOST JELLYFISH! I THINK IT'S A BOSS IN LUIGI'S MANSION. BREAK OUT THE VACUUM! I mean I'm not the biggest fan of jellyfish, god damn. A ghost jellyfish is just horrifying
Leovinus named this.

Oh, you come in pink, too. You seem like a very Bianca Pokémon.

Choro Notes: Ginger is still a little lower level than everyone else so I'm leveling them up on the trainers in the stadium/court!

Choro Notes: Revenge is a physical fighting-type move thats power doubles if it takes damage during the turn it's used. It's strong, but . . . . I've got other plans for Ginger.

Maaaaaan . . . why did dragons have to get involved in this stuff? Not you, Ginger.

Ok!

Hm?

. . . I know.

. . . Cheren, it's been a few days. I caught a legendary monster. Did you not notice it's summer right now?

Chereeeeeeeeeeeeeen! You're like twice as strong as they are! Heck, we just sprinted!

Well I was gonna before you told me you got beat up by a baby crocodile!

Music: Relic Castle

Does it?

Choro Notes: Automatom's got a couple nice punchy attacks but Night Shade'll work nicely for things that punching can't solve. It's always a set damage equal to the user's level.

Oh! Well that's strangely handy!

Look, I've done it before! Lots of times! Let me just have this dragon!

. . . yeah, you'd want me to do that, wouldn't you?

Ah! OK! I'll go down!

Work hard. Play hard.

Choro Notes: So. Funny thing. Team Plasma's Watchogs can't hit ghost-types apparently. Great!

You are really into this whole dance thing, Shakes. It's about time you found a good way to use it offensively!

. . . Ngh.

Well now that sounds like a challenge!

. . . Girl, you are dumb as hell.

Oh. I'm fine? Somehow? Is this how sand works?

Sure, ok.

Yeah, funny how that works huh? Preettyy interesting~

I get hugs and rides and someone to talk to, too!

I agree!

Learned that from my buddy Hansel. HUWAH!

Choro Notes: Shadow Ball is pretty good! It's like a ghost-type Psychic. It's 10 base power weaker but it has a 20% chance of lowering the target's sp.defense as opposed to Psychic's 10%.

Oof . . .

The hell?!

Cofagrigus

Cofagrigus pretend to be elaborate coffins to punish grave robbers. Grave robbers who mistake them for real coffins and get too close end up trapped inside their bodies. Their bodies are covered in pure gold and they like to eat gold nuggets.
Choro Notes: Cofagrigus creep me out in the way Yamask do. They've got really nice Defensive stats and learn some nice things. I do really like their design!
Zorak Notes: Fun fact: Cofagrigus has the word "fag" in its name. For the longest time (like 6 months to a year) you couldn't trade Cofagrigus on the GTS trading service without it being nicknamed to something else. You still can't trade Nosepass this way, however.
HulkaMatt Notes: Yeah, true story: I never knew that thing was a face. Like the teeth? Never knew it was there. I mean if this was Gen1 I bet this thing would have an entry like "It's known to trick humans into walking inside before consuming them forever." Just the idea of it is kinda horrifying, ya know? Gen 5 scariest gen.
Choro Notes: HulkaMatt, "It has been said that they swallow those who get too close and turn them into mummies."
HulkaMatt Notes: GOD DAMNIT
Zorak named this.

Well let's just keep throwing ourself into holes. Surely this can't backfire on me.

Great! I don't know what use I have for this . . .

Aha! I can catch one of you now!

Krokorok

Krokorok live in groups of a few individuals. Protective membranes shield their eyes from sandstorms. This membrane can sense the heat of objects, so it can see its surroundings, even in darkness.
Choro Notes: Krokorok have a fun design and I liked drawing Clay's. It's a quick little guy with a bite to it!
Zorak Notes: so . . . so cool . . . . . . . . . . . . .
HulkaMatt Notes: Well, Crocodile Rocking is something shocking, when your feet just can't keep still. I never knew me a better croc-pokémon and I guess I never will. LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, LALALALALAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~

Ha? It's really weird being more aware of things than someone else.

I don't like this whole thing at ALL.

Choro Notes: Bizarrely, the grunts in here withdraw if they have nothing they can do. I know, I was shocked too. The problem is what they send out . . .

. . . wow you're just a complete shit. Jeez.

Wow, you are the worst person I've ever met. Jeez.

Eh. Whatever. Better than being around here.

Music: Team Plasma's Machinations

Chereeeeeeeen . . .

Right boss! . . . other boss!

Dragon-type Pokémon, aren't you?"

I don't like your tone!

Please don't say my name, it's really creepy.

in legend and battle with our king."

and release them all!

Mine'd just come back anyway.

W-well yeah! He just said that it was! Literally just said the word STEAL!

wander the Unova region alone . . . "
. . . Alder?

people live together?"

Champion who keeps Pokémon bound!"

legendary Pokémon."
our king!"

in their trainers!"

Math. D:[

. . . the hell is wrong with you?

You could not do that! Like, I'm pretty sure we're missing something here!

Alder don't get all emotional. I don't think I could stand to see that.

Maths. He wants all of the maths.

two dragons?"
Can we please not call it that? Like, I'm sure I'm gonna be involved in this and I—

Hello?

Hi!

Hold up I'll turn the volume up.

What's up?

Alright. But I'm walking! I need to break!

Reception's terrible out here, yeah.

If this is gonna happen, I'm gonna ruin it up. Just throwing that out there.
