#13. My Rivals

I spent the last four hours working on my hair! I'm in Castelia!

. . . Bianca what is with that sly, cocky look? What did Iris teach you?

to protect my own Pokémon now."

Wow, you sure are sure of yourself suddenly, huh? Yeah sure, we can do a pokémon fight!

Alright! I guess we can leave this city! It was neat but I'm tired of all the big huge buildings!

. . . maybe one more building.

I do!

"Mind control alien, karate master, nah everything seems to be in order here!"

Choro Notes: Most monsters that learn TMs can learn this move. If used on a same gender or genderless monster it fails, but when it hits it causes the user to have a 50% chance of not attacking out of infatuation. Can be handy!

I'm not really one of them types to follow fashion but ohmigosh, so stylish

. . . what the hell is this thing?

I . . . don't know the password.
Choro Notes: The password is EVERYONE HAPPY - SIMPLE CONNECT. What this does is opens the Relocator. What this does is it lets you transfer movie prize event monster bullshits to your game: Celebi, and the shiny Entei, Raikou and Suicune. Celebi is used to trigger that Zorua event I showed earlier!

Choro Notes: This guy! He's part of an event. . . sort of. There is a special item in HeartGold/SoulSilver called the Lock Capsule. You are never able to get this item! It was supposed to be transferred similar to the Manaphy egg from the Pokémon Ranger games to Black/White . . . but never happens! If you bring the item to Mr. Lock he'll open it to give you TM95, Snarl. TM95 is unobtainable in B/W but is just flat given out in BW2.

Welp, let's get out of this city once and for all!

Hi Bianca! Ready for a beatin' /:D Ha ha! Just kidding of course!

Yeah it was like an hour ago.

Yeaaaah!

Ah?

to break the electric bulletin board."

Alright! Show me what Iris taught you!

Music: Battle! Cheren & Bianca

Ah! Yours evolved too!

Well then. We have accomplished much here my friend.

Yeah that, that was a pretty good one!

. . . . Hansel seriously, who taught you how to do that?

Choro Notes: Dewott is the evolved form of Oshawott and one of my favorite monsters to draw in Gen5. They're just so posable with their Samurai style and everything.

AH! That was an Oshawott yesterday! Is that what your training did?!

Choro Notes: Focus Energy boosts the critical hit rate of the user.

Yow . . .

Alright, let's play into that!

That one! That was a good move!

Oh! MunMun! I hope you're feeling better!

Yep! Looks like it!

Oh.

Sorry MunMun! I'm glad you're safe though!

Oh! Where did that come from? Did Iris give that to you?

Shame she didn't know about this!

Oh. . . I hope its eyes are ok.

It's ok! You did really good!

thinking about what I want to do in life!"
:)

Pokémon is really, really important!"
Well yeah, there are some badass monsters out there.

Have fun Bianca!

Well that was fun. :)

Music: Black/White - Route 4 (Winter)
Oh, it's dry out here, still chilly.

Choro Notes: Haley look out for the red sand . . . wild monsters dwell there

Ah! Ah! It knicked my leg!

Choro Notes: Everywhere on this route, there's a perpetual sandstorm. Sandstorm has two major effects: it whittles away the HP of non ground, rock and/or steel types. It also increases the special defense of Rock-types!

Sandile

Sandile live buried in the sands of the desert. The sun-warmed sands prevent their body temperature from dropping. It moves along below the sand's surface, except for its nose and eyes. A dark membrane shields its eyes from the sun.
Choro Notes: Sandile are pretty cool guys. They have a neat typing and can be jerks!
Zorak Notes: It's a line of ground-dwelling crocodiles with built in sunglasses. Soooooooooo hell yeah.
HulkaMatt Notes: I had to actively push myself to not raise one of these guys. They are seriously awesome, everything about them is awesome. They look fantastic. They're GREAT.
Good Listener named this

My hair's gonna split, eew.

THE HOOK ITH IN MA MOU-

OH! WOW! WHOA!

Whirlipede

It is usually motionless, storing energy for evolution, it sits. But, when predators approach, it moves to stab them with poison spikes by rotating at high speed and then crashing into them. Protected by a hard shell, it spins its body like a wheel and crashes furiously into its enemies.
Choro Notes: This is how you do a cocoon stage monster. Oh sure it doesn't move much . . . until it peels out and into your face. >B) Whirlipede is actually slower than Venipede but its defenses jump pretty high. When it evolves again its defensive stats actually drop again!
Zorak Notes: gotta go fast
HulkaMatt Notes: The pedes are cool but they like, not my thing. I like 'em though! They look cool, but fuck them for poisoning me. FUCK POISON.

Choro Notes: Iron Defense sharply raises the user's defense. Pffffffff. Not on my Spike-wheel centi-bug.

When I release them, I say these words:"

Thanks I guess! Also thanks for getting the hook out with those needlenose pliers!

Darumaka

When its internal fire is burning, it cannot calm down and it runs around. When the fire diminishes, it falls asleep. When it sleeps, it pulls its limbs into its body and its internal fire goes down to 1,100°F. Darumaka's droppings are hot, so people used to put them in their clothes to keep themselves warm.
Choro Notes: Darumaka are pretty cool, they hit pretty hard. Random fact: Whenever I draw it or its evolved form I always draw their pupils last.
Zorak Notes: Cute little Daruma dude. Daruma dolls (Dharma dolls) are Zen Buddhist symbols/talismans of good luck.
HulkaMatt Notes: LOOK AT THAT THINGS FACE. LOOK AT IT! JUST— THE TEETH AND THE EYES, THE FACE! WHY WOULD ANYONE EVOLVE THIS THING? IT ROCKS!

Free ball!

Choro Notes: Hidden Power has a random type and power level based on the user's stats. Let's see if we can figure out Xanadu's!

Timburr is a fighting-type, so to be ineffective, it has to be either a rock, bug or dark-type move.

Well that sums it up! Super effective against a Fire-type but ineffective against Fighting? Xanadu's hidden power is ROCK.

Choro Notes: Torment prevents the target from using the same move in repetition. I never really find a good use for it.

. . . . . . Wait a second.

Scraggy

Scraggy's skin has a rubbery elasticity, so it can reduce damage by defensively pulling it skin up to its neck. Proud of its sturdy skull, it suddenly headbutts everything—it immediately headbutts anyone that makes eye contact with it—but its weight makes it unstable, too.
Choro Notes: Such attitude in this little guy. He's pretty awesome! I don't really have much to say about him!
Zorak Notes: Someone murder an Ekans to give this kid a belt
HulkaMatt Notes: This fella is a real upstanding citizen and will become a valued member of our community. He keeps those pants up! A bright future, this Scraggy has :)

Oh, Cheren have you been standing out here in the sandstorm? You look terrible.

. . . do you wanna get a drink of water first or?

Music: Battle! Cheren & Bianca

Oh! You know Bowbow evolved right? Yeah it was great!

Well, I just try to hit really hard with a good move.

AH!

Choro Notes: The attack animation/pansage's pose is perfect.

There you go!

Oh wow! Wrestler pig! Audino would probably be having a good time hanging out with Pignite!

No, Cheren. Whirlipede uses its curling up offensively too! Your pig's gotta do things too! Try again!

Ok, let's see some wrestle moves!

. . . Chereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!

Cheren you gotta try to hit my guys! That's all!

Cheren. Cheren you have been standing out here too long. I think you've got heat stroke.

We need to get you to a doctor.

Well yes he's a fire-type!

I was gonna get Cheren some water real quick.

. . . Cheren let's get you into the shade.

Eh, I'm sure he'll be ok. He's the smart one after all.

I've got such good friends. :)
